Honest client words

  • 100% BEST SERVICE I've RECEIVED. This morning when the water something on my roof blew up and threw out water, leaking rapidly and a bang that shook the earth, I understandably freaked out. In 10 mins I called my normal plumber (no call back even now) and then got on google to find another and found these guys. From the initial panic stricken call, not being able to find my water main and freaking that the roof was going to flood, the admin staff were fabulous. Within 20 minutes, Nathan was at my house, within an hour he hadn't only fixed the issue, he took the time to explain what happened, what he could do to fix it, give me my options and rough costs and got to work and had it resolved. The admin team called me within half an hour, took my payment over the phone and sent me a reciept. I know this speed of response is not always possible and that I was lucky - but come on, that's exceptional. When I offered to pay extra (as a small business owner I get the call out stress) they wouldn't take it. Cannot reccomend these guys enough. Absolutely 5 stars and will absolutely use them from now on.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do you provide same day service for blocked drains?

Yes. We offer same day blocked drain service during business hours, Monday to Friday from 7 am to 5 pm. If sewage is backing up or the only toilet at your Hernes Oak home will not flush, waiting until another day is rarely practical. Call us and we will aim to attend today.

  • How long does blocked drain clearing normally take?

Most blocked drains are cleared within 1 to 3 hours using our professional drain equipment. If it takes longer, there is often a more serious issue behind it, such as pipe damage or major root intrusion, that may need extra planning and possibly excavation. If we uncover that, we will explain it immediately.

  • Is professional drain clearing safe for the plumbing?

Yes. Our professional methods are chosen to remove the blockage while protecting the pipework as much as possible. In many situations, the bigger long term risk comes from shop bought chemical cleaners, which can gradually damage plumbing. Professional drain clearing is generally the safer and more effective long term option.

  • Do you offer grease trap cleaning too?

Yes. We provide routine grease trap cleaning and emergency blockage clearing for restaurants and commercial kitchens. Regular maintenance helps kitchens keep operating properly and can also support compliance with local health requirements.

  • Will home insurance cover blocked drain repairs?

Usually not. Insurers commonly view blocked drains as maintenance issues that build gradually over time rather than sudden insured events. Even with regular professional cleaning 2 to 3 times a year, cover is still not guaranteed. We can provide documentation if you need support for a resulting water damage claim.

  • How much does it cost to clear a blocked drain?

Smaller blockages caused by grease, soap, food scraps, or hair often clear for a standard service fee. Bigger issues, including heavy tree root intrusion or collapsed pipes, may require CCTV inspection, specialist equipment, or excavation, which adds to the cost. We assess the problem first and provide an upfront quote before starting any work.

  • What equipment do you use to clear blocked drains?

We carry CCTV drain cameras to identify what is inside the pipe, electric drain snakes for difficult clogs, high pressure water jetters for thick buildup, and other specialised tools that clear drains without unnecessary digging. The approach depends on the blockage itself and the condition of the line.

  • Do you handle commercial blocked drains in Hernes Oak?

Absolutely. We service blocked drains for restaurants, shops, offices, and industrial premises throughout West Gippsland, including Hernes Oak. With commercial grade CCTV cameras and powerful jetting equipment, we can handle everything from grease related issues to major sewer line blockages that disrupt business operations.

  • Who is responsible for a blocked drain in a rental property?

If the blockage was caused by misuse, such as flushing wipes or pouring grease down the drain, the tenant is usually responsible for repair costs. If the cause is faulty plumbing, tree roots, or deteriorated pipes, it is generally treated as an urgent repair and falls to the landlord. We can provide reports to help clarify responsibility in Hernes Oak.

  • How can I help prevent blocked drains?

Do not pour fats or oils down sinks, let them cool and place them in the bin instead. Use drain screens to catch hair and loose debris before they enter the pipe. Flush toilet paper only, never wipes, hygiene products, or so called flushable wipes. Annual drain cleaning is also a sensible way to catch early problems around Hernes Oak.
